Stellar instability from parametric resonance

چکیده
Abstract In this paper we examine the stability of stellar configurations in which interior solution is described by a closed Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) geometry sourced with charged pressureless fluid and radiation. An interacting vacuum component conformally coupled massive scalar field are also included. Given simple factor for energy transfer between obtain bounded oscillatory solutions. We show that proper domains parameter space dynamics highly unstable so break Kolmogorov–Arnold–Moser (KAM) tori leads to disruptive ejection mass. For such asymptotically matches an exterior Reissner–Nordström–de Sitter spacetime.

Energy from the Bulk through Parametric Resonance
We demonstrate that energy can be transferred very rapidly from the bulk to the brane through parametric resonance. In a simple realization, we consider a massless bulk field that interacts only with fields localized on the brane. We assume an initial field configuration that has the form of a wave-packet moving towards the brane. During the reflection of the wave-packet by the brane the locali...
متن کاملNear-inertial parametric subharmonic instability
New analytic estimates of the rate at which parametric subharmonic instability (PSI) transfers energy to high-vertical-wavenumber near-inertial oscillations are presented. These results are obtained by a heuristic argument which provides insight into the physical mechanism of PSI, and also by a systematic application of the method of multiple time scales to the Boussinesq equations linearized a...
متن کاملQuantum Instability of Magnetized Stellar Objects
The equations of state for degenerate electron and neutron gases are studied in the presence of magnetic fields. After including quantum effects to study the structural properties of these systems, it is found that some hypermagnetized stars can be unstable based on the criterium of stability of pressures. Highly magnetized white dwarfs should collapse producing a supernova type Ia, whilst supe...
متن کاملOrbital instability and relaxation in stellar systems
We review recent progress in understanding the role of chaos in influencing the structure and evolution of galaxies. The orbits of stars in galaxies are generically chaotic: the chaotic behavior arises in part from the intrinsically grainy nature of a potential that is composed of point masses. Even if the potential is assumed to be smooth, however, much of the phase space of non-axisymmetric g...
متن کاملAn Instability in Triaxial Stellar Systems
The radial-orbit instability is a collective phenomenon that has heretofore only been observed in spherical systems. We find that this instability occurs also in triaxial systems, as we checked by performing extensive N -body simulations whose initial conditions were obtained by sampling a self-consistent triaxial model of a cuspy galaxy composed of luminous and dark matter. N -body simulations...
